TEA Accountability Ratings

The Accountability Ratings site shows ratings as well as the data used to determine the ratings for each campus and district. The site also shows the distinction designations earned by campuses. The 2022 Accountability Rating System webpage is now available.

Accreditation

TEA accredits public schools in Texas at the district level for grades K-12.

Postsecondary Readiness Distinction

Parents are encouraged to visit TX Schools.gov to view online report cards designed to be useful tools in seeing how a school or school district is doing in different areas. The report cards spotlight specific strengths, in addition to any challenges, that can assure the needs of all students are being met. Parents can search by district or school name and compare that district’s or school’s performance to others in their area.

Federal Report Cards

The U.S. Department of Education requires each state to publish an annual report card with specific district- and campus-level data.
Every district that receives Title I, Part A funding is responsible for distributing the state-, district- and campus-level report cards to each of its campuses, the parents of all enrolled students, and the general public.

School Report Cards

The school report card (SRC) combines accountability ratings, data from the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR), and financial information to give a broad view of campus performance. Available for each campus in Texas, the SRC is intended specifically to inform parents and guardians about a school’s individual characteristics and its academic performance.

TAPR

The Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) pull together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. Performance is shown disaggregated by student groups, including ethnicity and low-income status. The reports also provide extensive information on school and district staff, programs, and student demographics. The TAPRs were previously known as the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) Reports.
