Knowledge is power, and the power to be part of your child’s education is a really GOOD THING!
Jasper ISD participates in the Title I, Part A Parent and Family Engagement Statewide Initiative, a program designed to provide a high-quality education that will enable ALL children to meet the state’s performance standards. The initiative defines family engagement as “a shared responsibility in which schools and other community agencies and organizations are committed to reaching out to engage families in meaningful ways and in which families are committed to actively supporting their children’s learning and development (Dr. Heather Weiss, Title I, Part A Parent and Family Engagement Toolkit).”
Each Jasper ISD campus hosts annual meetings during which families have the opportunity to learn about the program’s intent and purpose, the requirements the school must meet as part of the program, feedback regarding the School-Parent Compact, and ways in which family members can be involved in their student’s education. Currently scheduled meetings are:
- Parnell Elementary-September 23
- Few Primary-October 2
Be on the lookout for upcoming meetings at Jasper Junior High and Jasper High School. Information will be shared via ParentSquare and through the campus social media accounts.
