Space exploration and students participating in government are both really GOOD THINGS!
On Tuesday, December 9th, Student Congressional Advisory Council members Samantha Melendez and Keagan Taff visited NASA Houston for an Executive Tour of the NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC). Their tour included George W. S. Abbey Rocket Park, the Astronaut Training Facility, Historic Apollo Mission Control, and a special presentation from guest speaker retired Col. Mike Bloomfield, shuttle pilot & commander, who shared insights from his experiences as an astronaut and his visits to the Space Station.
The Executive Tour was led by Irwin Stewart, who brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm for space exploration. With over ten years of experience teaching aerospace and aviation technicians and three years in administration, Irwin also holds a unique background as an FAA Commercial Multi-Engine Pilot, Aerospace Technician, and NASA Test Subject for ARGOS and Ultrasound testing.
Students gained valuable knowledge about astronaut training, the technological advancements of the NASA space program, and the exciting future of space exploration.
