Dedication and hard work are really GOOD THINGS!

On Tuesday, February 11, the JHS Student Council representatives attended the District 17 Spring Convention. The students enjoyed an inspiring presentation from guest speaker Lasada Pippen, who shared valuable advice for today's student leaders.

During the convention, the representatives submitted their State Report Form and notebook for review. As a result of dedication and hard work, the JHS Student Council received the following honors:
  • Pride & Patriotism Award
  • Energy & Environment Award
  • Drug, Alcohol, Safety & Health Award
  • Community Service Award
  • Outstanding Student Council
  • Sweepstakes Recognition

We are extremely proud of the JHS Student Council and commend them for their commitment, leadership, and outstanding achievements.

Superintendent John Seybold and the Jasper ISD Board of Trustees are proud to recognize the following:

  • JHS CTE--What a great day to be a Bulldog! The JHS Career and Technology Department welcomed rising 9th graders to the “Find Your Future” event on February 11 in the JHS main gym. Student ambassadors and CTE teachers hosted table talks to help future high schoolers explore programs and make informed decisions for the coming year. Counselors will assist students with course selections over the next few weeks.
  • JHS Student Advisory Council--The JHS Student Advisory Council traveled to Angelina County where members toured the West Fraser wood mill and visited the Forestry Museum. Students gained valuable insight into local industry and career opportunities.
  • JHS Fishing Team--The JHS Fishing Team had a strong showing at the SETX fishing tournament at Lake Sam Rayburn last weekend. Anglers brought in plenty of fish, and the younger team members especially stood out. Lachland Fowler won the 3 lb. pot, and Konnor Washburn placed 2nd overall out of 298 teams with an impressive 17.50 lb. bag.

Board Meeting Schedule

Regularly Scheduled Meetings of the JISD Board of Education

All are welcome to attend school board meetings either virtually or in person.

In Person: Meetings are held at 6:00pm at the Jasper ISD Administration Building at 128 Park Street in the Board Room unless otherwise noted.
